The Fossil Hunting and Llama Walking Day
This day out gives our guests the opportunity to combine two intriguing and quite different activities into just a few hours, and is one that will live long in the memory. We will collect you at 9am, then head to Dorset, the county next to Devon, to the town of Charmouth (part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site that is the Jurassic Coast) where we will introduce you to fossil hunting and the geology of this coastline. We will wander along the beautifully scenic beach, searching along the seashore to discover the delights that can be found right under your feet, and we guarantee you won’t come away empty handed! Afterwards there will be time to pop into the visitor centre, where there are some incredible finds to be seen, as well as opportunities to buy some truly amazing fossils.
After this enjoyable experience, we will find our way to a tasty pub lunch, which will provide us with the energy to then go Llama Walking.
We’ll drive up on to Dartmoor National Park where we’ll be greeted by the friendly Llama owners, Stephen and Diane, and then introduced to your companions for the next couple of hours, the Llamas and the Alpacas. You will then be taken on a guided walk with a Llama or Alpaca, getting to know your friendly and charismatic animal as you go. A break will be taken on one of Dartmoor’s iconic tors for a traditional Devonshire cream tea. The views here only enhance this wonderful experience.
